Corner dining bench buying guide

Corner benches are by far our most popular dining bench. They save space in smaller dining rooms, wrap around two sides of your table, and make for relaxed, sociable meals.

This guide covers which way round you need, how to size your corner, which covering suits your home, and how every range we sell compares.

01

Left or right hand facing: which do I need?

Sit on the long side of the bench. On a left hand facing bench, the short side is on your left. On a right hand facing bench, it's on your right.

So when you stand in the room looking at the corner, a left hand facing bench fits a corner on your right, and a right hand facing bench fits a corner on your left.

The Industrial, Rubix and Sonoma corner benches can be assembled either way round, so they fit a corner on either side.

Corner dining bench FAQs

What does left hand facing mean on a corner bench?

Sit on the long side of the bench: on a left hand facing corner bench, the short side is on your left. Standing in the room facing it, that means it fits a corner on your right. A right hand facing bench is the mirror image.

How many people does a corner bench seat?

Most Woods corner benches seat up to five people, depending on the range. Add chairs on the open sides of the table if you need more seats.

How much is delivery on a corner bench?

Corner benches are charged as large furniture. See our delivery information for the current charges to your area. Collection from our warehouse in Crewkerne is free.

Do corner benches need assembling?

Most Woods corner benches need simple self assembly. Self-assembly items can't be returned once assembly has started, so check the measurements and the facing direction before you build it.

Can I see a corner bench in store?

Yes. Woods has stores on High East Street and at Brewery Square in Dorchester, and at Castlepoint in Bournemouth. Displays vary by store, so call ahead to check a corner bench is on show before you visit.
